The Civil Infrastructure Risk Analysis (CIRA) website conducts online seismic risk analysis of building structure. At this point, the system is able to analyze the buildings located in Tehran, Iran. To obtain a risk estimate of your building, CIRA takes the general, observable properties of your building, such as the number of stories, material, footprint area, etc. Upon completion of the risk analysis, CIRA outputs the average repair cost of your building due to an impending earthquake, as well as the average number of casualties.

It is noted that the CIRA’s risk estimates belong to the general typology of your building. In other words, CIRA yields the same results for all buildings with the same height, material, number of stories and other input data. This, in fact, is an average estimate for all buildings with the same characteristics and NOT for your building alone. The actual risk estimates may be different. The reason is the use of a simplified risk analysis approach that can quickly evaluate the risk. Further information on this approach is provided in the About CIRA.
